This is the first in a new series I am working on called ‘Support and Independence’. This series is about the conflicting views I have on support and independence and how they work in harmony but also against each other. I have ultimately come to the conclusion that you need support in order to be independent.
This painting specifically looks at the role of support. One woman is more dominant and the other is less so. So even though you can see someone you still know they are always there.
