In this painting, I depicted a figure sitting with outstretched arms resting on the knees. The hands are red and prominent, almost in front of our faces. The person's face appears small and unnatural, questioning their humanity. In the background, poplar trees are visible, appearing dry, slender, and unnaturally thin. I wanted the movement of the trees to signify the hustle, chaos, and duration of these moments in life. The painting "I'm holding my own" is about inner tranquility. How hard do we work to achieve confidence and resilience within ourselves? This process is complex and lengthy, and I aimed to capture that particular moment.
In my recent paintings, faces disappear, with fewer and fewer details remaining on them. It seems that my art is seeking new styles and opportunities to express and emphasize art through this prism of life. On the face of the main character, there are two eyes drawn conditionally to convey and emphasize fear. Even in the outline of shadows, one can discern the person's fear. No matter how much we hide, removing details and eliminating unnecessary layers, we will see a frightened gaze even through two conditional stripes. And everyone sees their own in this look because the simplicity of lines allows imagination to add meanings and motives.
