I'm not ugly, I'm not useless, I'm not everything you can invent to offend me!
I am a queen, the queen of my life, and as such I am worthy to enjoy all the joys and passions of this world!

The painting is inspired by a situation of body shaming, and bullying, in this case done between children. We want to point out the uniqueness of each of us: each with its own personality, its own aesthetic and it is also for this alone that we are precious. In the eyes of some foolish people, we may be ridiculous or unsuitable, but if we know we are valid, even just for being faithful to ourselves, nothing can make us think otherwise!
the worried expression of the protagonist wants to convey the reflection and the flight of butterflies, the delicacy and fragility of the human soul when it is mocked and not valued ... a handful of butterflies. And then we have the shadow ... the true essence of the message, the importance we must give to our life: being king or queen of one's path, having the possibility of free choice, and here the choice is the reaction to bullying!
