NEW Original One of Kind acrylic painting is one of two paintings that have the same title., "I Am a NEW Creation!" This one is the female version. The concepts of these artworks came to me from 3 different influences. Two songs spoke to me that day. Mac Powell's song ( New Creation) and Brad Paisley's (New Again!). The third influence was my own desire to overcome the old person I was and become a new and better person. This is the the ultimate struggle for any human being. The desire to create an artwork about that subject came to me while I was watching a Nova film about the process of Metamorphosis in Butterflies. These paintings burned themselves into my artist mind. I debated for a long time whether to paint them or not until the day I was finished reading my Bible. I always read a random page out of another book called "Calling Jesus" by Sarah Young.... (A precious gift from my Sister!) I stick a bookmark randomly in the book the previous day and read it the next day. I prayed and asked for guidance whether or not to paint these artworks about becoming a NEW person. I opened the book and in the first sentence was the word "Cocoon". I KNEW then this artwork was for SOMEONE... not only me. So here tis one of them. They are created in the style of the fantasy artist heroes of mine, Frank Frazetta and Boris Vellejo. A Short story for this ART:

I could not escape from this nightmare! I was trapped in this black clinging cocoon of my shame... my guilt... my weakness and ignorance! The evil of all my failures and addiction clung to me like black tar. Burning my flesh. I couldn't breathe. I was suffocating by the folds of oppression wrapped around my body. Then I remembered someone saying, "All you have to do is ask!" I watched as the other cocoons on this lost river of souls were pulled into the molten shadows and disappeared. I knew where this river flowed. It drowned the hopeless in despair and drew them to the pit of hell. I called out. "Jesus! Save me! Forgive me of my sins and save me from this doom!" A dim light appeared in the darkness. Suddenly the cocoon I was trapped in became to glow of soft jade. I felt Love wrapping it's arms around me and I felt the cocoon to open up like a blossoming flower. It turned from black to pulsating colors... colors like I had never seen in my entire life. Colors of HOPE! I heard A Voice inside my mind, "Come to me. I will give you comfort and rest my child. Come!" I cried out, "HOW?" Suddenly the shadows of huge wings of pearl unfurling behind me made me aware.... I would fly to my salvation and redemption!

I opened my eyes...and realized I had been dreaming and I had woke up from that terrible nightmare. I had a strange feeling. I felt like I now have hope to change from this terrible person I had been and become a better person. I now had the possibility to find happiness in my situation. All I needed was to look into this Jesus I had always shunned. I started to get up from where I had slept that night... and I saw something had fallen from inside my jacket. It was a long white feather of pearl. OMG!
