I made this drawing almost with my eyes closed, relying on my body, the hand that confidently sketches while the mind is distant, absent. A free creative process, far from rational constraints, from which emerges a world that taps into the unconscious.
This drawing includes many elements: earth, fire, water, sky, stars, flowers, sun, moon, fish, birds. Symbols evoking the mystery of life. The uterine environment as an ecosystem. And the apple, a symbol rich in meanings, often associated with knowledge.
The theme of ambivalence - which runs through many of my drawings - is reflected here, between the fiery, earthly zone and the cold, ethereal, starry zone.
This world subverts every rule we've learned to know.
And so, it's precisely the perfect world for my series of 'Playful Fusions'.
They're drawings that blossom from a daily practice, including 25 minutes of drawing early in the morning before starting the day. They're born from instinctive gestures, not from defined projects. In these drawings, therefore, lines and strokes can also be crooked.
This, like the others in the same series, is a drawing made on smooth sketch paper, 120g, with rounded lower corners and finished with a quality passepartout.
The drawing is sold already mounted in its passepartout.
