I've never been to the marathon in New Your City, but I was able to understand it and imagine it through the stories of a runner friend of mine who, in contrast, the marathon has run several times. So when I was asked to make some sporting subjects it was quite natural to me to use those stories to create a series of paintings depicting runners and skyscrapers. The one of the towers, or skyscrapers, has become a recurring theme that I'm facing from a bit of time, especially by developing the representativeness of the towers, their structure, their volume, their stage presence in front of the human figure.
Thus this is a painting about runners and towers, and life and architect. I used here acrylics and natural pigments on a prepared surface with plaster on canvas.
