The production of this series called 'Perspectives of Thought' is a representation of “what a brain captures without the awareness of the conscious mind”.
I believe that ideas have colors and take shapes, and I also believe that we own mind-places for these thoughts and ideas that I represent through textured and colorful rooms, corridors, walls, and ceilings. We don’t really have awareness of what these places or rooms look like, or how they were formed in the blueprint of our consciousness, but I want to depict one of the many forms in which our mind might experience place and time.
The process of creating these series has involved a lot of experimentation. I'm very driven by feeling and emotion when adding lines and putting color into my artwork.
I start drawing a simple sketch of very few, straight lines to then layer acrylic paint, and pastel chalk, and more lines. I enjoy creating textures with knives, stiff brushes, and other objects.
This painting is about conversation. There’s an absent guest, the colors of a joyful moment and there’s a memory of the things we said.
Acrylic on canvas. 11 X 14 X 0.5 Inches. (Unframed)
Signed, titled and dated on the back.
The artwork is framed, please see the images and note the surface has been attached to the wooden frame without the usual hanging screws, but with pre-set Velcro stripes. It’s manufactured that way and I personally find it delightfully practical and time savy. I made sure it’s not a cheap frame, it’s actually well made and sturdy; artwork stays safe in place.
The canvas can be removed from the frame but the stripes attached to the back side should not, otherwise it’ll ruin the material.
