A canoe / riverboat on the idyllic Kerala Backwaters in India.
I visited the Kerala Backwaters back in late 2012, part of an around-the-world trip. Kerala was one of the favourite destinations in India. After the crazy busy and at times overwhelming travel around India it was great to visit a more tranquil side of this amazing country. This was one of the last places visited before leaving India to continue around the world.
I can really recommend visiting Kerala and a trip to the very tranquil and idyllic Backwaters, where time seems to stand still as you float around on the canals and lakes, watching rural everyday life as if in slow motion.
