Original artwork description:

This is a lovely painting of a cold but bright early Winter's day. It was the inky blackness of the river's water that caught my attention in contrast against the brightness of the backdrop of the warm colours of a few remaining Autumn trees which are a foil for the chilly blues of the ice and snow. I have painted it mostly with a palette knife 'impasto' with thick layers of paint and 'scraffito' or drawing through the layers with a palette knife for some of the trunks and bare branches of the leafless trees. There are scumbles and glazes of paint over the water to create the icy feel.
This painting comes ready to hang unframed as I have painted the sides of the canvas with black acrylic paint (I can overpaint these with white if preferred, please email me when you purchase if you would like this done). Alternatively the painting is also shown in a white wood painted frame that shows the grain that can be sold with the painting if preferred for an extra £30 plus the extra p&p, please message me for this option.
The in-context picture (interior) may not be quite to scale, please refer to measurements given.
