Iceberg Lake is rightfully named in Glacier National Park, Montana. This lake is fed by melting snow and ice, and the water is incredibly cold. We saw floating ice in the lake in mid-August. The water has a turquoise color due to “glacial flour” - a fine clay powder glaciers carry as they scrape over bedrock. The reflection of the towering rocks on this lake water are incredible to see in person. The water is very still (unless a daring person jumps in for a swim)!
This oil painting was completed using professional grade oil paint on canvas. A layer of clear gloss varnish was applied to protect the painting from future dirt and dust accumulation. A black frame and wire mount is installed so it is ready to hang when you receive it!
