Ice Storm original seascape oil painting on canvas. Width 102cm x Height 76 cm or 40 x 30 ins. Signed. Unframed. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Free UK Shipping.
Inspiration
Ice Storm is inspired by the coastline of South Devon and North Cornwall. This particular painting show a large blue and teal green surfing wave cresting. The sky is dark and brooding The light coming through the cresting wave is a combination of emerald and teal green. The deep shadow of the wave is a mixture of viridian green, phthalo blue and green and indigo blue. The foreground shows a choppy sea and sea foam rising up under the waves.

Medium
I like to work in oils because of their versatility. You can layer the paint so that it has a translucency. Also It is so robust a medium I can scrape the paint back or scratch into it too. This is another in my series of wave paintings which I started many years ago.

Background
I graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art in 2008 at the University of Plymouth. My exhibitions have been throughout Devon and one of my films was been exhibited at the South Bank, London and in Italy. I am a Teignmouth based artist.

In conclusion, I am a member of the Devon Artist Network and a Geopark Ambassador Artist for the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark.
