Original artwork description:

Ice lollies and ice creams have been a regular feature in my work since I started painting. For this canvas I wanted to create a line-up of classic ice lollies side by side, to invoke a nostalgic summer feeling whilst also celebrating the aesthetic and design of retro sweet treats.

This one features, from left to right - a Rocket or Zoom lolly, red at the top, orange in the middle, and yellow at the bottom of a cartoon rocket shape, then a Nobbly Bobbly, which is a chocolate covered layer around pink ice cream and a hard chocolate centre, all covered with an outer layer of sprinkles, then finally a Twister lolly, a tangy lime flavoured UK classic with a strawberry centre.

All of them are rendered in my usual bright pop art style against a sky blue background, detailed with precise black outlines. It's the second painting of this style and subject that I've completed.

The end result is a bold and colourful painting that would brighten up any room in the house. As it's on a canvas frame, it's ready to hang.

Size -
40.5 x 30.4 cm (1.5 cm thick)
16 x 12 inches (0.5 inch thick)

Painting is signed and dated on the back frame of the painting.

My style of painting and illustration is heavily influenced by classic pop art like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, modern day graphic design, and everything from cartoons, animation, and food packaging.

Materials used:

Acrylic Paint, Posca Paint Pen, Paintbrush
