Original artwork description:

Ice lollies and ice creams have been a regular feature of my work since I started painting, particularly the image of the Fab Lolly. I even got commissioned to paint a giant mural of an ice cream and a Fab in London in 2016. You can still see it in Stoke Newington, see the 'me at work' section for photos.

This new painting is a recreation of that mural on canvas. I originally created it to hang as part of a solo exhibition in a cafe in London near to the original mural. The photo of the painting against the vintage tiles shows it hanging in the exhibition.

Set against my trademark sky blue background is the classic Mr Whippy 99 ice cream, with a flake of course, lined up next to the classic Fab, which is a layer of raspberry ice, then one layer of ice cream, then a chocolate and sprinkles topping.

It's a classic image capturing a very British feeling of summer time and holiday nostalgia. The end result is a bold and colourful painting that would brighten up any room in the house.

Size -
50 x 60 cm (3cm thick)
19.6 x 23.6 inches (1 inch thick)

The work was completed in acrylic paint and Posca paint pen on canvas. It is signed and dated on the back frame of the painting.

My style of painting and illustration is heavily influenced by classic pop art like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, modern day graphic design, cartoons, and food packaging.

Materials used:

Acrylic Paint, Posca Paint Pen, Paintbrush
