This painting was created in response to the U.K. and U.S.A and coalition forces entering into a conflict with Iraq. The image is 'collateral' damage and is one of many images that are accessible via the Internet.

I chose this image out of many because of the use of young children used in Old Master Paintings, particularly used to represent Cupid. In this case I wanted to allude, via the title, the burning of this young person's wings due to the conflicts abroad stunting growth in the younger generations and their future prospects.
