Original artwork description:

Icarus, from Greek mythology, flew too high and the sun melted the wax that held his wings together. He disobeyed his father's warnings and fell to his death. A Greek tragedy. But this image shows the exuberance of the human spirit rather than the tragic consequences. This fun, surreal image gives us contrast between the harsh, cold, reality of a monochromatic moonscape and the bright, living color of life. The concept was born out of my fascination of space travel and the human spirit. Great fun creating this image and a joy to look at!

Oil on gallery wrapped stretched canvas. Signed oil painting. Edges are painted and the work may be hung straight out of the box or framed.
- standard size. If a frame is desired, this work will fit a standard open back frame. Quality inexpensive frames can be found at Dick Blick.
