Original artwork description:

This painting is part of a series of works exploring the human condition through conflict.

The painting seeks to highlight the price of war and some of the effects of these conflicts upon the citizens of its country, also making aware of what is known as collateral damage, in that it also involves unfortunate events resulting in the loss of life from non-combatants.

In the tradition of oil painting akin to those like Delacroix, this painting, as well as others, seeks to capture a sense of the era as an image, summing up some of the ways in which people are affected by these forms of the human condition.

Materials used:

Oil on Canvas
