It might seem like a simple “I ❤️ U,” but here, it’s about more than just tired words. It’s about honesty that can be terrifying to voice; about the strange paradox of wanting to be close yet holding back. About the fear of intimacy and the inability to let go.
The red jute rope is almost like the art of bondage, but it’s more about an inner struggle: attachment through restriction, which sometimes gives wings and at other times binds and torments. It’s a metaphor for the emotional captivity we often agree to just to feel that intensity, to keep ourselves on the edge. Love doesn’t come from the real image of another; it’s always a fantasy of what we’re missing within ourselves.
There are rough patches, scratches, imperfections on the white canvas — everything as it is. This canvas hides nothing but doesn’t lay it all out, either. Instead, it seems to say, “Look, here are all the traces, all the flaws, and they’re part of this story.”
This is about love as a tense struggle between freedom and holding on, where risk meets tenderness. And the question isn’t, “Do you love me?” The real question is: are you ready for this truth?
