Original artwork description:

I paint because I am bruised by beauty..
A joy so profound that it hurts
An ache so silent that it nourishes

I paint because I am kissed by light
A glow so soft that it glistens
A fire so bright that it ignites

I paint because I am struck by colours
A blue so deep that it slips
A pink so delicate that it shivers

This work is done painstakingly with washes of turpentine and several layers of glaze in oil . As a result it appears to be of different colours at different times under different light . It is an absolute joy to have this work and the viewer gets to continuously explore a different hue and chrome depending on the light and the time of the day under which it is seen . The pinks in the work appear to be an orange during the nights and the greens appears to keep receding .
My interest is in the fleeting moments of consciousness, ephemeral quality of light and one’s relationship to the inner self .The search of the marvellous, of the abstract, delicate, vague, voluptuously wordless sensation of transcending ordinary living beckons me . I rely on meditations to question, stretch and bend the imaginative spaces to make the unexpected paintings happen. In this work I explore to look beyond what meets the eye to explore clearer understandings of love and the divinity attached to it .
