This painting is part of my Iconic Collection.
From time to time I decide to paint some of those British iconic products that are often in our cupboards. When I painted SPAM, it produced all sorts of interesting reactions: sone people had never eaten it and others remembered it with mixed feelings. For me, it reminds me of being at university where in one of the toilets there was this graffiti that said: I think therefore I'm SPAM, which I thought was an interesting change from: I think therefore I AM. In any case, I love the tin and enjoyed the challenging of painting it.
