Small projects are great to work out ideas, and just as a way of keeping in touch with colour and paper.
And the figure is a good subject… the lines are always fluid, the challenge is to put movement into it … and movement this has!
The close up picture gives a better sense of the paint, paper and the brush stroke. Then there is the pencil sketch.
