Artwork description:

Mid-morning, Maasai Mara, National Reserve, Kenya. It was ‘Life can’t be better than this ‘morning: space, blue sky, a cool breeze, and a coalition of male lions. They were resting in the open and I spent an hour with them, resting as well. But then it got warmer and the big cats do not like hot. So, one by one, they headed for shade.

I had anticipated such a move and took my position, framing a composition with the faint outline of the escarpment in the background and included the resting males. One big male walked into the foreground for me to complete the composition. A bonus was the expression on his face.
