Original artwork description:

I just love how dogs sit and sniff the air while casting their gaze over the land as if they're royalty, my dachshunds do it all the time so much so it inspired me to paint this piece. Plus who doesn't love Birkentocks and socks?! ;) I've tried to keep it loose with painterly strokes and interesting marks, I wanted to capture the feel of the textured grass and warm sunshine the dachshund's glossy coat. You can almost feel the coarseness of the hairy legs too!

I have painted this proud sausage on a 24 x 36 inch stretched canvas using acrylics and mixed media and sealed it with satin varnish, the edges are painted denim blue. It is unframed and ready to hang.

The title comes from the saying 'I am monarch of all I survey, My right there is none to dispute, From the centre all round to the sea, I an lord of the fowl and the brute.' Which totally sums up the look on this proud dog's face. This painting is a celebration of our beautiful hounds and would be the perfect statement piece for the home of any dachsund lover.
