Hutong' photographed in China in 2013. Richard is well known for capturing things on the brink of change before they disappear and this is a classic example, the modernisation of Beijing has since seen many of these historical Hutong's lost to development.

This artwork is a limited edition of 25 gloss photographic print made in the artist's darkroom. It is signed and numbered on reverse accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The print is dry-mounted to aluminium, presented in a museum board window mount and a choice of black or white box frame. It can be requested unframed.

Richard Heeps’ seductive, highly saturated colours and sophisticated pictorial structures demonstrate a true love and empathy for his subject matter – be it cool, descriptive interiors, still life, portrait or landscape. His distinctive style pushes the limits of lens-based photography without the need for digital manipulation. He runs his own darkrooms in Cambridge (UK) where he hand prints his colour photography. His work has been exhibited in Museums and Public Galleries around England and he has participated in Art Fairs around the world and his work is now part of many international collections.
