Original artwork description:

Physalis Fruit and husk.
I wanted to paint something that portrayed my emotions when my eldest child was about to leave home and go to university.
I felt like I had created this wonderful, beautiful person but at the same time felt like it had taken a part of me and all that was left was a husk of what I had been.
So this painting is a visual metaphor for my daughter leaving home.
