How Stean Gorge is a popular tourist attraction in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, but the Beck that feeds into the Gorge is less well known. This was painted largely on site, standing on some of the rock strata that makes this part of the Dales so unique. Looking directly into the sun, ‘contre jour’, added drama to the scene. Using washes of watercolour to create an underpainting, I then applied my favourite pastels to complete the painting.
This work is presented double mounted ready for framing. It will be dispatched cello wrapped and carefully packaged in an appropriate strong cardboard box and sent via a tracked courier.
A certificate of authenticity will be provided.
