Behind this painting is a story from old slavic mythology. There is a saying in my people "You can't meet someone until you eat a bag of salt with him." But older and original version says "You can't meet someone until you eat a bag of ASH with him". It's from ancient times when the food was prepared on the hearth. Domovoy is mythological being, friendly to the people, a being who cares about harmony among people who lives in one home. Here he helps them get to know each other better. White bee is a term denoting a distant ancestor.
