The painting is based on the imaginary interview with Vincent Van Gogh who is standing in front of his sunflowers. His answer to the question "How does it feel to be famous Mr Van Gogh" can be seen at the bottom of the painting.
Melinda says: "I saw the Van Gogh exhibition a while ago in London. It was amazing though I left the show with sadness inside. I saw huge masses of people crowded around some of his paintings, there were so many people that it was impossible to get closer and have a look. On the walls there were fragments of articles written in a grandiose style arguing about Van Gogh's style... whether it was formed in London or Paris?
This made me sad. The painting was born out of reflections on human failure to value life in 'real time'.
The painting is on stretcher bars so it is ready to hang and it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
