"How are you Amy" (2024) Original Oil Painting by Maxim Fomenko

Inspired by the British singer Amy Winehouse, known for her extraordinary voice and unique blend of jazz, soul, and R&B. Despite her musical success, Amy's life was overshadowed by personal struggles. She battled drug and alcohol addiction for years, a tragedy that clouded her immense talent and future.
The life of a music star, often filled with outward glamour and fame, hides inner battles. The pressure of dealing with personal demons, as was the case with Amy, is a difficult path that many artists have had to walk, as we've recently seen with Justin Bieber and other stars.
In my work, I have tried to portray the vulnerable soul of a young singer—a woman torn internally despite her strength and talent. Through this depiction, I hope to make the viewer aware of the fragile side of fame and the challenges that many artists face.
