Low mountains and valleys characterize the Eifel region which straddles Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. I love the wide open landscape here and often go there to paint it, inspired by the feeling of space it offers. The Eifel affords an abundance of painting subjects such as moorland, picturesque villages, forests and farm buildings. This scene with its farm buildings and houses on the ridge overlooking the undulating agricultural land inspired me during a period I spent in the region in summer. I set up my easel nearby and painted this view en plein air near the village of Winterspelt.
“Houses on the Ridge" is a unique, original watercolour, painted en plein air on location site near near Winterspelt on the German-Belgian border. It was painted on 450g Hahnemühle watercolour paper using Windsor and Newton paints. It comes mounted in a warm white mount to fit a standard frame size of 50x60cm and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the artist.
