Original artwork description:

That one friend who always buys you a lovely houseplant for birthdays and house warmings.

This new miniature painting is another in a series of images showing people with objects obscuring their faces. Where previously I'd depicted the image of a person brandishing a stick of candy floss that's bigger than their head, here it's a woman presenting a bonsai-like house plant that's again covering their face.

The person is painted in my usual pop / graphic style, while the round bush of the plant is painted in a more impressionistic painterly style that shows the brushstrokes. I even added the little silhouette of a bird perched on the plant, plus some simple protruding branches.

The end result is a colourful and humorous piece that would look good in any room of the house, or be the ideal gift for anyone who loves house plants.

I've included images showing the sketches that inspired this work, and the final photo shows my other recent A5 paintings that feature a similar human subject matter.

It is painted in acrylics on thick high quality standard-sized A5 paper.
PLEASE NOTE: the painting doesn't come framed, but I've taken photos of it in a white A5 frame for display purposes.

Size -
5.7 inches x 8.2 inches
15 cm x 21 cm
Roughly 1mm thick

The painting will be packaged in a thick envelope with full tracked postage.

My work, as ever, has been inspired by the classic pop artists like And Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein, as well as modern day graphic artists, and food packaging.

Materials used:

Posca Paint Pen, Acrylic Paper (Acid Free)
