Original artwork description:

At the end of a long and winding road on the Isle of Skye, Scotland, you reach Orbost bay where I found this scene and painted it – as I do almost of my paintings - on location. The Isle of Skye is paradise for artists, photographers and nature lovers with its variety of vegetation, fast changing weather and wonderful colours. On this particular day, I was captivated by the turquoise of the sea in front of the strangely shaped mesa-type mountain and the brown bracken in the foreground, not yet in bloom because the painting was painted around Easter time. What an idyllic spot for the little house by the bay!

“House by the Bay”, Orbost, Skye was painted on 300g Arches watercolour paper using Windsor and Newton paints. The painting comes in a warm white mount to fit a standard frame size of 40cm x 50cm and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. If you like this painting, you might want to take a look at the rest of my series of Scotland and Skye paintings too.
