This work is an exploration of form and visual composition. Mining a space between figuration and stylish abstraction: a place between reality and imagination.
With a semi-abstract painting of this sort, where the artist is including a recognizable figure with pure abstract forms and color, the problem is always to mate the two in a way that makes all components compatible. Here I am using the female figures, the Pegasus horse and the concrete wall as a departure point, leading to the less definitive shapes and colors of the bulk of the painting. I have kept most of this painting within a pallet of cold colors to illustrate the somewhat vintage theme.
Horsewomen is a one of a kind, original work of art. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity. It is mounted on tempered masonite with a simple two inch wide grey wood frame.
I include a drywall hanging device. The painting can be on your wall in five minutes.
