Horror of Youth looks at teenage emotion. The foundation is papers of writings I found from my school years. It is a variety of poems, lyrics and general writing I used to express my self while at school, which I discovered a few months ago. I have nailed them to a piece of wood made from my old desk. The writings were secret from everyone and a means to express anything I wanted without judgement. Looking back I would trivialise them until now finding the emotions were just as important now as then but by holding them in I was only doing my self harm. This is described by the desperate figure. By his own reluctance to confront his emotions he keeps himself fixed to the writing. Unknowingly self harming represented by the body shot with nails. A martyr figure. Emotions if not expressed will always remain with you.
