Ink painting from Vintage Portraits serie. Inspired by vintage photographs. Created in traditional Japanese sumi-e wash painting technique with Chinese inks on thin rice paper mounted on hard archival paper. In exspressionistic manner of painting.
Ink paintings by Alex Solodov are mostly the portraits of female models. They are based on photo images but in process of painting they are transformed into surreal images of “invaders” which can exist only between dream and reality.
