Original artwork description:

This original oil painting on canvas depicts an old functioning lighthouse surrounded by crashing waves situated near Wexford on the south east coast of Ireland. It was created using thick oil paint with a palette knife. The use of preliminary sketches have enabled me to plan and expand the field of view allowing me incorporate more features. The objective was to express the depth of the rocky coastline and choppy waters.
