As I walked around the harbour wall in Mallaig, I came across this very beautiful, large wild honeysuckle. It was covered in flowers and provided the perfect frame for the view across to the Caledonian MacBrayne ferry waiting to go to Skye.
I loved the combination of colours - the creamy apricots of the honeysuckle against the blues and navy black of the boat. It tumbled along the railings flowering its heart out and in any other situation would have been the star of the show but seemed somehow overlooked with so much going on in the distance.
The painting is framed in a 'floating' white wooden frame and is ready to hang.
