Original artwork description:

This original work of a Tin Can containing honey has a crispness to its grey tones that makes this charcoal picture stand out! Furthermore the rendering makes the can come alive as a real three-dimensional object on the paper.

Instead of an accent color this monochromatic Tin has a dent on it's side. I lost focus when drawing the round circles, they started to become lobsided and the save... well I had to make it into a dent! One of those rare happy accident.

This still life fits perfectly on a smaller narrow wall, perhaps close to a door frame and in a space with a shorter viewing distance as for example a hallway. It looks best with a good natural light or picture lighting. Ideal hanging height is 1,44 m (57″) to the middle of the picture and the ideal viewing distance is 1 meters.

Materials used:

Charcoal and Fineliner
