Text - Honey is the complex substance made when the nectar and sweet deposits from plants and tree are modified, and stored in the honeycomb by
honey bees as a food source for the colony. Honey bees are essential to life. But now they need our help. Honey bees are responsible for 80% of pollination in the U.K. They are essential to biodiversity. Honey bees are seen as the highest form of insect life, living in a well organized colony without need to hibernate. In winter they can survive in the hive at high temperature, while outside the temperature can be below zero. Some food and plants rely on bees to pollinate crops. Bees are essential to grow kiwi fruit, cherrys, water melon and apples. British bee count 2016.
