Description: Homeward Bound follows a narrow path into the mystical depths of the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest in Kyoto. As the early morning sun filters through the densely packed grove, you can almost hear the huge bamboo stalks rustling as they sway and twist in the wind. According to Japanese philosophy, it is said that in order to learn, the first step is to empty ourselves of our preconceived notions. One cannot fill a cup which is already full. The hollow insides of the bamboo reminds us that we are often too full of ourselves to have space for anything else. In order to receive knowledge and understanding, we must be open to that which is new and different. A gentle reminder to remain open and accepting as we move through our busy lives.
*Hahnemuhle fine art gallery paper, 100% cotton, 308 gsm using archival pigment inks.
