It's that time of year again when the starlings flock together and murmurate before settling down to roost for the night. I have seen this spectacle but lately numbers have dwindled and every trip to the local nature reserve has resulted in disappointment.
Well at least I can enjoy the memory of seeing them and I looked back to my photos for this piece. Its a colourful and impressionistic representation of the moment that the starlings dive down into the reedbeds for the night. Lots of vibrant colours and black details in the grasses and trees.
The painting is supplied in a white mount ready for framing. It will fit a frame size 60cm x 60cm.
