When I first realized all I wanted to do was paint, I took pictures of clouds, the street, the buildings, constantly every time I was out. This painting is inspired by a shot I took on my way home from teaching summer school. I spent a lot of time painting that summer during class and at home. I was never without inspiration.
You can see in the in-progress photo that I had a color scheme all planned out and started. I realized quickly that the cool color tendencies were not giving the painting the warm... or rather.. hot afternoon midwest sunshine I was looking for and switched it up.
