Original artwork description:

The original of this work 'Homage To Matisse 1 by Zao Wou-Ki, 1986 Oil on canvas' took my breath away when I saw it last year at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris. This work in black, pink, green, and blue amazed me and I spent hours enjoying it! I was fortunate at the time to be staying in Paris for 3 months to delve into such works and familiarize myself with many different types of art and sculpture.

Upon seeing this work by Zao who had several unique pieces in this museum I simply had to create my rendition of the work. The original by Zao is much bigger and was created in oil. My version is smaller, more textured, and created in acrylic. This work continues to include the side so that no frame is required. That said, I would suggest the addition of a simple gold floater frame for added effect. This work is sold unframed and ready to hang. It is signed on the back.

Please note that the in situ images are for display purposes only to show the work in an interior (or with the addition of a frame). The work is for sale unframed.
