Original artwork description:

We are the living proof of our context.
We are shaped by things that have been said or made by others.
As an artist my contemporary art is influenced by modern media, yet also by all the all the great painters that houses the history of my very small home country: The Netherlands (Holland, as you wish).

FUN FACT: Johannes Vermeer was an astonishing painter,
yet also father of 15 (that's right! Fifteen) children.
So he needed to get the cash on the table. He found out that selling art of others was way more profitable than making art himself.
(some things will never change!)
So he had a lucrative business, leaving him very little time to create.
In his whole life he didn't paint more than 34 pieces.

The painting girl with a pearl earring is one of my favorites and it was a pleasure to "make her mine".
I loved depicting her with bigger eyes and with juicier lips!
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do,
and help me to support my carreer as an artist to make more art than Vermeer did,
thus making the world a tiny bit more beautiful, piece by piece.

All my acrylic paintings are also painted on the sides, and especially with the broad ones like this one (3 cm deep), it makes all the difference; for you can hang it without a frame needed.

I've signed it on the front and on the back, where you will also find the year of making and the title. I will also get you a certificate of authenticity upon purchase.

If you have any further questions, I will be very happy to respond them!

Materials used:

acrylic paint and synthetic enamel
