Homage to Chillida, 2019

This is a painting of a section of 'Peine del Viento XV' 1977 (The Comb of the Wind), a monumental steel sculpture by Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida, located in San Sebastián in the Basque Country of Spain.

Andrew Hardy is an English painter who lives and works in London. Following a long career as a creative director he now devotes himself full-time to painting. In 2019 he graduated with a BA (Hons) Painting (1st Class) from Camberwell College of Arts which is part of the University of the Arts, London. During 2019-20 he had a studio at Turps Art School in London which provides an alternative educational environment at master's degree level for postgraduate painters. His association with Turps Art School continues.

Andrew Hardy paints in an abstract language, using abstraction to explore broader questions of materiality, repetition, gesture and chance.

Materials used:

rust, graphite, iron filings and acrylic on linen.
