The HOLY FAMILY bas-relief represents the classic Catholic Christian icon made according to the best traditions of Italian sculpture. With this work I wanted to challenge the masters of classical sculpture. I combined bas-relief and high-relief to obtain a greater expressiveness of the work. Work painted with natural oxides in light colors, almost watercolored, in order not to cover many bas-relief details.
I believe that sacred objects belong to our life, to the life of our families, and I remind us in every moment that what we live in is a Christian home, that those who live there are baptized and live in the love of God and share the profound Christian values.
But there is more. The house in which crucifixes, icons, sacred paintings or statues of the Madonna are displayed will be protected from evil and will keep those who live there as a fortress.
This work of art is a great timeless classic. Collectors appreciate the very high quality of the bas-relief, the impeccable composition and the skill in the execution of the work.
Faithful people will surely notice the sweetness of the characters and the harmonious family hug around the baby Jesus. I hope this icon brings comfort to mourners and strengthens their faith in God.
