Artwork in figurative expressionist style as a tribute to the Florentine historical re-enactment of Calcio in costume, considered by many to be the origin of the game of soccer, although at least in the fundamentals it is much more reminiscent of rugby. Tradition still very dear to fans and footballers, it has its origins in the history of the first games with the ball: from the Sferomachia of the ancient Greeks to the Roman Harpastum and the Middle Ages, when soccer on the streets was a very popular activity for Florentines. Memorable was the iconic game of February 17, 1530 in which the citizens, worn out by hunger and the siege of Charles V, took to the streets and began to play Calcio in mockery of the enemy.
