Part of a growing series of Wildlife drawings - an Original Pencil Drawings by Paul Stowe.

The common hippopotamus, or hippo, is a large, mostly herbivorous, semiaquatic mammal native to sub-Saharan Africa. It is one of only two extant species in the family Hippopotamidae, the other being the pygmy hippopotamus. The name comes from the ancient Greek for "river horse".

Drawn on Bristol Board Smooth paper and measuring 40cm wide and 55cm high, the complete drawing took around 40+ hours to finish.

The drawing is being sold unframed to reduce shipping costs - however I can offer a bespoke framing service as required - To ship with the same frame used in the example photos will cost and additional £100 - just send me a message to discuss.
