This acrylic painting depicts the Hilbre Island, the biggest of three islands at the mouth of the estuary of the River Dee, the border between England and Wales at this point. It is a very popular tourist attraction in Wirral, especially during the summer months. The island can be reached on foot at low tide from the town of West Kirby, a place where the artist lived during 2002-2008 period.
