A small naive study of a Scottish traditional style thatched house with stones weighing down the thatched roof under a dramatic dark colourfull sky.
Although this a fantasy fictional image, it is loosely based on the small whitewashed stone croft house of the west coast Scottish highlands and Hebridean islands, often described as black houses, which are traditional thatched in reeds or Marram grass, and stones attached to ropes or nets to keep the thatch down, with rounded cornered walls and small windows.
Painted with a dramatic dark sky using a unique textural technique that allows the underlying colours of and red and yellow to show through the texture.
Painted using quality artists acrylics on a small square format 8" x 8" (20 x 20cm) canvas, with a gloss varnish finish and white wooden frame with cord ready to hang.
Will require a signature on delivery.
