Original artwork description:

Bombay chests hold a fascination for me, and I wanted to do a picture of one. Originally I had intended it to be black, but I found it too overwhelming, so I changed it to white. It is made of wood veneer paper, which I painted with chalk paint. I spent a lot of time on the hardware and gold edging. After I created the white and black tile floor, I thought to include a twin of our cat, Samson. I liked the effect of a tuxedo cat on the floor, and it gave me the title. You also see a mirror above the chest. Mirror reflections, windows, and pictures within pictures are favorite themes of mine.

This picture is double matted and ready for a 22" x 22" frame.

Materials used:

paper, wood veneer paper, chalk paint, glue, museum board
